HOW THE PISTA METHOD WORKS

What are the Methods Used by PISTA?

PISTA employs a variety of innovative techniques to optimize brain function and correct inefficient mental activities. These methods include brainwave feedback, brain stimulation, and self-regulation procedures, all designed to facilitate healing and personal growth. At the core of PISTA's approach is the PISTA Sound Tool, which leverages the science of brain entrainment to activate and deactivate the thinking system through a self-questioning process that achieves desired brain states.

The PISTA Sound Tool

The PISTA Sound Tool is a central component of the therapy, stimulating the brain to achieve a state known as brain entrainment. This condition occurs when the brain creates a third tone from two tones generated separately into the right and left ear. This alteration of sound frequencies makes the brain more susceptible to change and constructive reinforcement. Through this process, destructive thought patterns are eliminated and replaced with constructive affirmations, dramatically changing the way individuals think.

Therapeutic Structure and Entry Points

While sound alone can affect how people process information, PISTA includes a therapeutic structure designed to target specific mental health problems or illnesses. For each patient, a therapist creates an Entry Point (EP), which is a word or small phrase that provides a specific guide for the patient to focus attention on a particular memory. When the sound file is heard, this information is processed by both hemispheres of the brain, leading to new understandings and insights.

Individualized Care and Psychosocial Considerations

PISTA also takes into account individual psychosocial situations to help patients adjust and cope with various stages of development, including stress associated with older age. Points of attention may include conflicting views on moral growth, interpersonal conflicts, and social experiences linked to cognitive disequilibrium. This individualized approach ensures that therapy is tailored to each patient's unique needs and circumstances.

Safe and Individualized Therapeutic Technique

PISTA is a safe and personalized therapeutic technique where the patient decides on the depth and intensity of the emotions they want to address. The therapist develops the entry point and provides expertise on the method and technique, while the patient acts as the agent of change. By allowing information to flow, the patient provides clues for the conscience to create new understandings associated with greater well-being. For older adults with dementia and their caregivers, PISTA has been beneficial in reducing behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia and reducing potential abusive behaviors of caregivers through improved mood and positive thinking.

The Seven Modalities of PISTA

PISTA doctors, who specialize in psychology and mental health care, apply seven modalities throughout the treatment period. These modalities guide patients in establishing life direction and encourage them to move forward and embrace daily challenges.

PISTA Sessions

PISTA sessions help clients and therapists identify key elements that trigger adversities. These sessions facilitate the removal of past hurts by encouraging and engaging patients to move forward in life through structured short- and long-term programs and the guidance of the PISTA team of professionals.

In summary, PISTA's methods combine advanced brain stimulation techniques, individualized therapeutic structures, and comprehensive psychosocial considerations to provide a holistic approach to mental health and well-being. Through the use of the PISTA Sound Tool and the expertise of specialized therapists, patients can achieve profound personal growth and improved mental health.
